The 4-H experience encourages individual freedom to grow. It creates a positive reinforcing and stimulating environment for youth to develop positive social skills and attitudes. 4-H members learn to work together with their peers and with adults as well. .
4-H is a family affair. Many volunteers are parents of 4-H members. The 4-H program encourages family involvement in the individual’s growth and in events and activities that build family unity and spirit.
The 4-H idea goes far beyond our nation’s borders. Youth programs similar to 4-H exist in more than 80 countries on every continent. 4-H offers young people an opportunity to participate in international exchanges where they live and work with families in other lands. The international aspect of 4-H strenghtens America’s understanding of our global community.
