“To the best of our knowledge the elementary school is drug free, and we will do all we can do to keep the school drug free,” Superintendent David Gangel said, when asked about rumors that there were illegal drugs being used at the elementary school and by elementary students on school buses.
“We have had two incidents within the past month when we were concerned for the potential of drugs at the elementary school,” he said. “In both cases we took immediate action. We gave highest priority to investigating the situations. In both instances we found to the best of our knowledge, in one case on the basis of a Sheriffs Department test, that no drugs were involved.”
“In both situations our investigations indicated that students were talking about drugs or play-acting the possession of drugs,” he added.
