overreact to what I considered to be an effort to control future votes of the Council on Town issues - and not just my vote.
In fact, two subsequent events have confirmed my original understanding of what Mr. Wickens and - upon his own admission of involvement - Mr. Miller were attempting, which was to coerce me into resigning my Council position to preclude me from being an advocate for the proposed expansion of The Inn.
First, I have learned that several weeks before Mr. Wickens and Mr. Miller “debated” which of them would share with me the privileged and confidential information about my State tax returns they had obtained from a still anonymous source - that Mr. Miller had offered that information to this newspaper. I understand that, upon investigating the allegations made by Mr. Miller, it was concluded there was no “story” to be published.
Mr. Wickens tells me he did not know that the story he had suggested he could “contain” - in return for my resignation - had already been offered for general publication. If that is factual, then I can only conclude that Mr. Wickens has been used by Mr. Miller.
Second, the Town Attorney, Mr. Reynolds, recently received a telephone call about another allegation having to do with my service on Council and votes on issues this
