lieve that Mr. Gooch may have done something illegal, what gives you the right to keep it quiet? And, as Mr. Gooch pointed out, how would that contribute to the integrity of town government or recover the tax money that was lost?

I believe that your motive, in your mind, was the best interests of the Town. However, that does not give you license to take matters into your own hands, to stack the deck, or manipulate the situation to satisfy your own agenda. We do not need a director, benevolent or otherwise, to tell us what is, best for us. You can trust the people who live here, and our democratic governmental system, to judge for themselves and to make right decisions.

I agree with your proposed ordinance to the Town Planning Commission that ethics in government ought to be strictly observed, Persons who serve as elected officials or in appointed positions must see to it that their actions are beyond reproach. Mr. Wickens, if you did indeed try to force Mr. Gooch off of the Town Council, bypassing legal channels and acting on your own, you have no choice yourself but to resign.
