Like her older sister Cady, and her older brother Hayden before, Cally Codding has learned how to drive by practicing on barren Fairfax County roads — the kind typically found at 4:30 a.m.
It’s the first year Cally — a junior at Fairfax — has had her driver’s license. Her younger sister Clare, a freshman, figures to take the same lessons down the road. They both know the bending sixmile route from their house in Fairfax City to Annandale’s Wakefield Park all too well. Six mornings a week, the sisters make the trip on their way to swimming practice for their Solotar club.
