The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper on February 13, at 11 a.m. including a Dutch treat buffet lunch. The program has been changed to one titled “Know Your Ancestor” with each member being asked to give a thumb-nail sketch of her ancestor.

RAA baseball registration

Registration for Rappahannock Athletic Association baseball season will be held March 3 and 10 from 9 a.m. until noon at Aipissyille fire hall and Rappahannock Elementary School. Teams are Tee Ball ages 6-7, must be 6 by August 1, 1990; Minors ages 8-9 and some 10 for first timers; Bambinos ages 10-12 and Babe Ruth ages 13-15. If you have not registered before, you must bring proof of age. Registration fee is $15. For more information call Billy Dodson at 937-4353.

Adult education at RCHS

Rappahannock County High School announces Adult Education classes starting in February. Two 30-hour classes, Applications of Microcomputers and Welding will be taught on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Classes will begin on Feb. 26 and continue through May 7. Tuition for each class is $39. Please contact the school between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to pre-register. Enrollment is limited.

'Old Gringo'

The movie Old Gringo will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Based on the legendary Mexican novelist/statesman Carlos Fuentes’ book, “Gringo Viejo,” it is an epic tale of the fateful intersection of three lives amid the dusty cataclysm of the Mexican Revolution and makes for three formidable performances by Jane Fonda, Gregory Peck and Jimmy Smits. The movie is rated R.

Fashion show planned

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club annual fashion show will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at Rappahannock County Elementary School. This year’s theme Country Reflections will feature fashions from Frank’s and Warren Quality in Front Royal and Peebles in Warrenton. Tickets may be purchased from any member or contact Chairperson Barbara Burke at 987-8058.
