to say in his letter is that before this property was subdivided, there were two lots of record on the property, both fronting on Main Street, both in the “Village Mixed Use” zone allowing for business use, and both only slightly more than one-fourth of an acre (0.2802) in size.

What the applicant proposed was to merge these two lots, to create a single lot, almost twice the size of the lots of record, (the 0.4181 acre lot to which Mr. Miller referred) and to add the remainder to the existing lot on which Mr. and Mrs. Morehouse’s residence is located.

No new “nonconforming” parcel was created; in fact, one nonconforming parcel was eliminated. WA would have thought that Mr. MiLlAr would applaud that result, not challenge it.

While this response to Mr. Miller’s letter unfortunately can add nothing to the consideration of this application by the Town residents and Council that was concluded almost two months ago, we deem it our responsibility to the Town to ensure that this addendum to the record is complete - and fairly stated.

While it may serve an individual’s purpose to attempt to undermine the confidence of Town residents in the decision-making process of its elected Council, all of us — residents and Council members, alike — are losers if that effort succeeds.
