1/2 cup brown sugar 1-1/2 tsp. mustard 1-1/2 tsp. flour 1/4 cup seedless raisins 2 cups fresh cider Mix dry ingredients. Add raisins and cider. Serve on slices of ham. Makes approximately 2-1/4 cups sauce. Party perked mulled cider 1 gallon farm cider 3 2-inch cinnamon sticks 5 whole allspice 16 whole cloves 1 whole nutmeg 1 cup light brown sugar Pour cider into large percolator (do not use a drip coffeemaker). Place spices and brown sugar into percolator basket and perk as you would coffee. Serve directly from percolator. Spices may be saved for another time. Cider punch 1 gallon apple cider 12 ounces frozen lemonade, undiluted

4-5 spiced apple rings 1 lemon, sliced Stir together apple cider and thawed lemonade; mix well. Garnish by floating apple rings and lemon slices on punch. Serves 16.

Shrimp feast

benefits LFCC The Educational Foundation at Lord Fairfax Community College will sponsor a “Shrimp Feast Festival” on Oct. 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. "The menu will feature all the jumbo steamed, spiced shrimp, cole slaw, Texas-styled baked beans, hush puppies, pie, and drink you can consume. The $20 per person fee will be used to finish the Mobile Computer Classroom project and to fund the College’s Master Plan. The event will be held at the College campus in Middletown and is one of several fund-raising events scheduled for the academic year.
