With the first killing frost predicted for the 11th get the garden bedded down in anticipation and protect late crops. Now is also a good time to clean up any debris, adding organic matter to the compost pile. Check garden tools and equipment, removing dirt and rust before applying light film of oil.
Beware of hobgoblins at month’s end and be careful of the little one’s safety as they go trick or treatin’. Check the goodies they collect before allowing them to enjoy them.
