Council member Ray Gooch will focus on coordinating town celebrations with community groups (the Fourth of July and the Colonial Christmas Weekend), Susan Parrish will examine planning for future parking needs, Janice Moffett will work on a house numbering system for the 911 Emergency system, and Brad Fisher’s subject is finding new revenue sources for the town budget.
Mark Bailey will explore new street lights and Newbill Miller will oversee protection of the historic setting of the town, including open space preservation.
Other legislative and planning items on the agenda, items that will be worked on with the Planning Commission, are: revision of the subdivision ordinance, the five-year review of the Comprehensive Plan, revision of the Zoning Ordinance, revision of the Historic District Ordinance, the cable TV agreement, the five-year capital improvements plan, contracts for the town well and water system upgrades, the solid waste management program and towncounty boundary adjustment.
