Outstanding Senator awards. He successfully authored a bill in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the Most Favored Nation status of China and co-authored a bill in the Labor and Human Resources Committee dealing with parental leave.
Justin Harrell also received an Outstanding Senator award for his successful bill encouraging the development of alternate sources of energy in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

The first spring season of the Rappahannock Soccer League begins March 23 for the 10 league teams, according to commissioner Vinnie Carney.
Registration is still open and remains open during the entire season, said Mrs. Carney.
Teams in the older divisions will be competing against teams from Culpeper and Madison, leading to the fall season when Rappahannock, Fauquier, Culpeper and Madison will merge leagues.
Mrs. Carney said 115 kids are already signed up.
