Gospel vocal groups from Flint Hill and Front Royal will be raising the rafters at Washington Baptist Church this weekend.
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) is presenting a gospel concert at the church at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.
The concert will feature The Brothers, a Southern Gospel trio based in Front Royal that is nationally recognized as one of the finest Southern Gospel groups around today and The Voices of Inspiration, a gospel choir from the Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill.
The Brothers consists of two brothers, Danny and Roger Figgins, and Benny Roach, lead singer. Backing them up is Randy Simpson on drums and Larry Daniel on guitar.
The Brothers formed in 1980, although they have been singing together for almost 14 years.
In 1982, they performed at the White House for President Reagan and in 1983 they won the gospel contest at the Jamboree USA in Wheeling, W.Va. and were named the official gospel group for the Jamboree.
