In the high school much of the material in the Family Life Education is covered by the physical education teachers. Gary and Renee Leake teach eighth through tenth graders. Some of the time that means they have eighth graders mixed with ninth graders or ninth graders mixed with tenth graders, and in that case they cover the same material with the mixed classes.

However one period a day they have a mixture of eighth and tenth graders, and for that period they have to juggle to cover topics in the Family Life curriculum.

Mrs. Leake might teach the eighth grade girls while Mr. Leake has the tenth grade girls and all the boys in the gymnasium. They switch off like that until each group has received the required instruction. “It is only three times a year that they have this separation,” Mrs. Leake said.
