Early March 12 approximately 65 seventh-grade students from Rappahannock County Elementary School left for their annual trip. They knew Virginia history was their destination; they didn’t know a meeting with Gov. Wilder was too.
They were all excited at the great opportunity that lay in store on the trip to Williamsburg.
On the way to Williamsburg, some of tried to sleep in order to pass the time. It was a four-hour drive to the first destination, the Virginia Marine Science Museum. After about a two hour tour, the seventh-graders left and had a picnic bag lunch at a small park near the museum. Next, they headed to the old Cape Henry Lighthouse and to the beach.
The first event in Williamsburg was music, which lasted well into the night.
The trip continued the next day with a visit to Jamestown and Jamestown
