Fire and rescue calls made by the volunteer fire department in February were: Rescue calls, 9 in Rappahannock County and 12 in Culpeper County. Larry Graham was the top runner with 13 calls. Fire calls, 9 in Rappahannock and 14 in Culpeper. Wayne Dodson and Eugene Daymude were top runners with 16 calls each. The community is proud of all the volunteers who give so much of their time for all of us during an emergency.
Beverly Payne Chesser of TV’s “Beverly Exercise” program was in town Thursday to attend her brother Allen’s funeral in Culpeper. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
We’re glad to report Mr. Zinn hopes to return from UVA Hospital in Charlottesville early this week.

Cari Hardin has returned to school after being out two weeks following knee surgery when she had an accident at the Courtland High School basketball game while cheerleading. Her mother Shelly expresses appreciation to Cathy Beale and Joyce Tyree for their assistance during her injury. She also had high praise for Dr. Brown at Blue Ridge
