Marion Watts
Marion G. Watts, formerly of Washington, died in Avon Park, Fla., Wednesday, March 13, following an operation. He had been in ill health for some time.
Bom in Amherst County on Oct. 1, 1911, he owned and operated barber shops in Washington, Flint Hill, Sperryville and Amissville after leaving Sophia’s Barbershop in Culpeper.
Mr. Watts served in the Navy during World War II on the Battleship of Massachusetts.
He married Nell Snead, who operated a beauty parlor on South Main Street in Culpeper. Mrs. Watts died some years ago.
Mr. Watts is survived by two brothers, Charles Watts of Tampa, Fla. and Jack Watts of Ocala, Fla. and many friends in Rappahannock, Culpeper and Florida.
Mr. Watts was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Brown and Mrs. Margaret Taylor.
Ellis Frazier
Ellis Wade Frazier, 81, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, March 20 at his residence.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late John W. and Alberta Woodward Frazier. He was a retired farmer and a member of Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church near Sperryville.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jenkins Frazier; a son, C. Jack Frazier of Culpeper; a daughter, Ruth Hitt of Culpeper; and two granddaughters, Faith Frazier and Hope Frazier, both of Culpeper.
A funeral was held Friday, March 22 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home, Elder Elmer Skeen officiating, with interment in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.
