The Board of Supervisors tentatively approved three plans for adjusting the boundaries between voting districts. The boundaries must be adjusted every 10 years once new Census numbers are available.

Each district is supposed to be no more that 5 percent over or under the ideal number. In Rappahannock’s case, that number is one-fifth the total population of 6,622. So the districts have to contain between 1,258 and 1,390 people.
