Garden Club
has meeting By MARTHA SUTHERLAND i ei Rappahannock New* Contributing Writer Dr. and Mrs. Darwin Lambert, freelance writers, were the guests of the Rappahannock County Garden Club at its meeting on March 20. Dr. Lambert is one of the first employees of the National Park Service. His wife, Eileen, has contributed numerous articles concerning mushrooms to various wildlife and nature publications. Her pro.. gram, consisting of beautiful slides showing the native fungi, both edi-itible and non-edible, was most educational, said club members. , The business section of the meeting followed. The club voted a contribution of $1,000 to the Nature \ Camp in Vesuvius, Va., for use in r, reconstructing the kitchen. Helen Fairfax was elected to the - - Scholarship Board for the 1991-93 ‘ term. The nominating committee r-1 presented its slate of officers for the ^ next two years. They are as follows: Marion White, president; Ellie •* Kreamer, vice president; Eve Filipy, secretary; and Lucia Kilby, treasurer. The slate was approved by the ‘" membership, and the new officers will be installed at our June meeting. Margaret Tucker reported on her work with the Junior Garden Club at ,,J the elementary school.
