Wakefield School in Huntly will field teams in five sports this spring: boys’ lacrosse, girls’ soccer, girls’ tennis, boys’ tennis and golf.
Three Rappahannock girls have made the girls’ soccer team: Daphne Atkins, Melissa Pagano and Stephanie Tomeden.
Alison Martin, also a resident of Rappahannock, made the tennis team.
The golf team begins the year at 3 p.m. April 4 with a match against Fishbum Military. Other games are at Randolph-Macon (April 11), at Woodberry Forest (April 27), home against Randolph-Macon (April 30) and Blue Ridge (May 7), at Fishburn (May 8) and home against Woodberry (May 14).
Home golf matches are played at Bowling Green Country Club in Warren County.
Lacrosse, coached by Matt Vanderwoude, plays Fauquier Rec at home April 11, Osborne Park April 13 in Manassas, St. James at home April 17, Blue Ridge at home April 23, Randolph-Macon at home April 23, Woodberry at home April 26, at Randolph-Macon April 30, at St. James May 3, home against Fauquier Rec May 7, at Chesterfield May 9 and at Woodberry May 14.
