of religious freedom, but that’s only one of his fields of expertise.
Donald and Katherine Sills moved to Washington to “retire” in November, but their retirement hasn’t slowed the dynamic Dr. Sills very much. 0
A minister for 34 years, Dr. Sills’ resume reveals the active lifestyle he brings to Rappahannock County:
• President of the Dallas-based Family Entertainment Network.
• President of the Coalition for Religious Freedom in D.C.
• Executive vice president of the American Parents’ Association.
• National director of the American Freedom Coaltion’s Religious Freedom Taskforce.
• Board member of the Presidential Commission on the Bicentennial of the Constitution.
That is only a sampling of his board memberships, present and past, and the wide range of experiences “the Lord has allowed an Oklahoma farm boy to have.”
His resume goes on to list “major TV appearances,” including spots on Donahue, Larry King Live, the 700 Club and hundreds of other appearances.
Dr. Sills’ passion is the delicate, always changing balance between religion, the U.S. Constitution and the courts. He’s known nationwide as an expert in the field of religious freedom, but that’s only one of his fields of expertise.
The Coalition for Religious Freedom, of which he is president, is in the process of distributing a 900page textbook on the United States’ founding fathers and principles, “The Making of America” by W. Cleon Skousen, to Communist Bloc countries thirsting for information about our democracy.
His Family Entertainment Network is making religious and historical films, and the staff includes six animators hired away from Disney. Previous films have been religious, but the next one, about Christopher Columbus, “moves us out into the realm of classical heros,” said Dr. Sills.
