The last day they packed and loaded the bus after breakfast, and headed for Richmond, the third Capitol of Virginia. In the past four days they had visited the first and second capitols and then they went to the third.
They started their stay in Richmond at the state capitol, where they toured the building and then had a very pleasant surprise.
Teacher Arthur Neufeld noticed that the governor was going to have his picture taken on the steps of the building. He had the group wait on the steps for about 30 minutes and sure enough they had the opportunity to not only see the governor but to spend about 10 minutes with him asking him questions and taking pictures with him.
The next stop was the church where Patrick Henry gave his famous “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech.
They then headed to the next stop the Virginia Science Museum. This was one of the best stops on the entire trip.
