As April nears, the 14th Annual Fodderstack 10K beckons once again.
The scenic path up and down Rappahannock hills begins at 1C a.m. April 20 in Flint Hill, just beyond Settle’s Store and Garage. It bends and twists its way into historic Washington to finish in front of the courthouse.
Avid runners, dedicated walkers, mothers, fathers, children and some in babybuggies eryoy the annual event.
The entrance fee for those who have preregistered is $12.50. Application forms are available at stores around Rappahannock County, at the Rappahannock Planning and Zoning office on Gay Street in Washington or by mail, P.O. Box 124, Flint Hill, 22627. Entrance fee the day of the race is $15, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. in Flint Hill.
Trophies in eight categories are presented. The first male and female Rappahannock County residents are presented with a special trophy, the coveted Eva Smith Memorial, presented in memory of the race organizer, Eva Smith of Flint Hill.
