'Russia House' at Theater
The feature attraction this weekend at the Gay Street Theater will be “Russia House” at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31. The movie stars Sean Connery and Michelle Pfieffer. Connery stars as a British publisher on the personal skids who receives a letter from Russian mystery woman, Michelle Pfieffer and finds himself caught in an undercover affair involving the CIA, M15 and Soviet scientists, Klaus Maria Brandauer. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for children. The movie is rated R.
Lions benefit auction
The Rappahannock Lions Club is again planning for their annual benefit auction to be held at the Washington fire hall at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Proceeds from this auction are used to support local needs of the community such as sight and hearing screening, youth athletics, senior citizens, scholarships, drug awareness Wnd other projects. The club is accepting donations of new, renewed or serviceable items that you no longer have need for. Cash contributions are also gratefully accepted. Food and clothing however are not acceptable. Benefit banquet
A banquet sponsored by the Rappahannock County Citizen League will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Julia Boddie, retired teacher and former member of the league. Donation is $12. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the league.
