was all tnis necessary; As a nation, we struggle for meaning and order during such unsettled times. When one cell in the body begins to grow rapidly in an unregulated fashion, it must be stopped quickly or the body will succumb to it.
I will never forget the look on my cousin’s face as I listen to the echo of her words, “If only the cancer has been discovered earlier, we could have done something about it. ”
And now, so much blood in the desert. Wasn’t this same desert part of the world where Jesus wandered some years back? It is reported that he only lived to be 33 and was killed.
This too was a violent event, and it has provided salvation for countless millions. And remember what happened to Jesus after his baptism, how he wandered in the desert and was tempted by evil? Remember how he was first tempted to relinquish all responsibility for his life?
And remember after that, Jesus was tempted to go to the other extreme, to be the sole conqueror and ruler of all the kingdoms of the world? He was tempted to have complete and absolute power over everything all for himself. And once again Jesus rejected the voice of evil.
Jesus teaches us so well that a careful balance between letting go and over controlling is what is needed. Life requires a healthy environment in which to function. And we who populate this planet require
