“Even though a lot of conventional real estate agents don’t completely understand buyers’ agency, most are now accepting it,” he said.
“We’re not really in opposition. Even though we share the commission, it’s all done fairly,” he said.
Mr. Zindel operates the Buyers’ Agency Inc. with Uli Maeyer and David Welch in Washington.
Mr. Zindel’s company is a member of the Real Estate Buyers’ Agency Council (REBAC), based in Boulder, Colo. When REBAC was contacted by U.S. News and World Report last month to do a story about the phenomenon of buyers’ agency, REBAC gave the magazine Mr. Zindel’s nanje.
They called him two weeks ago and interviewed him for their consumer “News You Can Use” section, and even sent a photographer out to Washington.
Look for Mr. Zindel posing by a fence along the Rush River or at the gates of the Willis property in Washington.
Buyers’ agents are paid by either dividing commissipns with the listing broker or are paid directly by the buyer, to keep the price of the property from increasing.
