Stumbling through Jerusalem, Jesus bore on his back a ^ heavy wooden cross. Hinging on that cross on Calvary, He died a slow, torturous death, bleeding from the mocking crown of thorns and the nails that pierced His hands and feel “But He was wounded for our transgressions...
and by His wounds we are healed." (tsaiah 53:5)
Jesus prophesied that in three days He would rise from the tomb, appear in the flesh, and then ascend to His Father in heaven. “And behold there was a great earthquake; for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone. .." and proclaimed:
“He has risen, just as He said.” (Matt. 28:6)
Do you bear a cross? Do you feel entombed by doubt and fear? Ask Jesus Christ to help you to rise above the darkness of sin and death.
As we worship this Easter and each Sabbath throughout the year, let us remember that we need not bear our cross alone. We have only to ask in faith, and the Lord w>ll share our burden and walk by our side.
