The School Board’s $4.4 million budget was supported by the few people who came out for the public hearing on it last Wednesday.
Superintendent David Gangel said in putting the budget together he had set as his goals “to continue to provide quality service even in a poor fiscal year, to continue improvements and to reduce the local share of the budget by $150,000.”
He said that under the proposed budget Spanish would be added at the high school, cooperative learning would be emphasized as a teaching strategy, and whole language would be extended to “second and third grade. He said the school system also hoped to continue to improve through partnerships with the Potomac Edison Company and Xerox.
