Tammy Ann Sherfey and John David Taylor were united in marriage April 6, at the Fellowship Independent Baptist Church in Stanley.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie R. Sherfey of Luray.
Mr. and Mrs. McKinley C. Taylor of Stanley are parents of the groom.
The one o’clock double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John C. Sherfey, grandfather of the , bride, amid an alter setting of j branched candelabra accented with pink satin bows and floral arrangements of pink and white carnations. An alter table was completed with white gladioli and daisies and dusty rose and white carnations with greenery.
Pianist was Judy Painter of Stanley, and soloists were Mr. and Mrs. Wade Lam of Stanley. They sang the “Wedding Song" and “We’ve Only Just Begun.”
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a formal length white satin gown with an illusion neckline, trimmed with lace and white pearls and sheer long sleeves and full skirt. Her train had a wide border of vertical appliques which encircled the softly gathered skirt and flowed into a cathedral-length edged with a ruffle. The full length illusion veil hung from a headpiece trimmed with lace, sequins and seed pearls extending down the side. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and carnations accented with lace and white ribbon streamers.
