Review reveals old flaw

Two Jackson District voters and the Rappahannock County Registrar were the only members of the public to attend the public hearing on redistricting plans.
The Board of Supervisors adopted Plan One and voted to send it to the U.S. Department of Justice for approval.
Under this plan voters in Stonewall-Hawthorn District who live west of Route 231 and north of Route 707 will vote in Piedmont District this fall.
Voters who live south and east of routes 729 and 610 in Jackson District will vote in Stonewall-Hawthorn District.
And a few voters in Piedmont District, who live between the Covington River and Routes 622 and 621 near The Shade, will be voting in Hampton District.
