So many area residents donate countless time and energy to make baseball a success. Mr. Brown also gave special thanks to all the coaches and board members. Henry Diggs and Billy Paolicelli were applauded for building the concession stand. Cheryl Diggs was praised for her many years of fundraising, Lorraine Early for her many years as Treasurer. (Also, John and Lorraine Early were praised for their work in establishing and sponsoring the baseball teams some 15 years ago.) Ernie Deal was presented with an inscribed sign to be hung at the field for his many years of maintaining the fields. (He is president of I-Deal Lawn Service.) J.B. Himmer was recognized for her work on registration and publicity.
Mr. Brown also announced that a father’s softball game will be held at Stuart Field on May 11 (during craft show.) To play call Bob Wild man, 937-4875. Cost of sponsors is $10; get as many sponsors as possible. The mother’s softball game at Stuart Field is set for June 8. To play, call Chele Hardin, 347-1959 or Connie Dowell, 825-5529.
