Business Council to meet The Sperryville Business Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at The Annex. Plans and promotions for the Memorial Day festival will be discussed. The new brochure will be available. All members are encouraged to attend.

Bloodmobile May 8 Next Wednesday, May 8, the county’s Extension Homemakers will sponsor their semi-annual Red Cross Bloodmobile from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. We urge all county residents to stop by the fire hall and donate a unit of blood. It takes only a few minutes, is nearly painless, and holds no risk of contracting any infectious diseases.

Program set for May 6 Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers and the American Cancer Society will co-sponsor the program Special Touch (how to do breast self-examination) at 7:30 p.m. on May 6 at the Extension Office in Washington. Marilyn Slater, reach to recovery volunteer with the Culpeper Cancer Society, will be the guest speaker. Before the program, and in celebration of Homemakers Week, there will be an Open House from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Extension Office.
