The Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) is administering $1 million in state tax credits, available in each of the next three years for landlords who discount their rent 15 percent below the market rate for low-income Virginians who are elderly or disabled.

The tax credit can be 50 percent of the amount rent was reduced.

Households whose head or spouse is at least 62 years old, or whose head or spouse is disabled, can qualify.

Interested landlords should contact Kelly or Brenda Goodman at VHDA, 601 S. Belvidere St., Richmond, 23220-6504; or call 804-7836730.
