Greg Robertson, a parent of children starting in the school system, said the superintendent’s budget is a “creative act of responsibility. It’s resourceful and frugal. I urge you to adopt the budget.”
Supervisor Chairman Hubert Gilkey closed the public hearing when there were no more people wanting to comment and asked if board members had any questions.
Hampton District representative Mike Massie reminded Dr. Gan gel that he had said the schools might be getting an additional $9,311.
County Administrator John McCarthy asked to comment. “I have spent only marginally less time than Dr. Gangel on the budget,” he said. “I would be the first in line to say the budget is frugal and responsible. He said, “The problem comes from the state’s unwillingness and inability to deal with its own, for the purpose of providing the governor with the aura of fiscal responsibility.”
