Benefit for Educational Foundation

The Rappahannock rock 'n' roll band, Venus Jones (formerly Crazy Eights), will perform a benefit children's dance at the Washington Fire Hall on Saturday, June 1.

Proceeds from the event will support the Rappahannock Educational Foundation, a non-profit group formed recently to raise money for the county's public schools.

The "Children's Dance" runs from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and is aimed at elementary school students. From 8 p.m.-11 p.m. high school students will be entertained.

Admission is $2 per child and adults get in free. The event will be fully chaperoned, so kids can be dropped off.

The Rappahannock Elementary PTO will be selling hot dogs, nachos, baked goods and drinks.
