The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will holds its carnival May 29-June 1. Special events are planned for each evening. Wednesday night will be family night and you can ride all night for $5. Rides for Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be at the special rate of $6 for each evening and riding until closing. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday and crowning of the queen will be held Friday night. Prizes will be given away Saturday evening.
Our sympathy is extended to the families of Wilson Woodward and Joe Atkins, who passed away last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Jenkins, Heidi and Heather of Falls Church were Saturday overnight and Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jenkins, Richard, Angie and Miss Amy Wharton.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins were Mother’s Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Codding and family in Fairfax.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin R. Kilby were Mother’s Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Robertson and James in Fredericksburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Klatko and Sara and Mrs. Sally McKinley of Des Moine, Iowa spent Saturday in Fredericksburg shopping. Later on they had dinner at Chason’s Restaurant.
The Sperryville Bridge Club was entertained on Friday night at the home of Mrs. Celine Siira.
