RCHS play opens
Students perform ‘Miracle’

A cast of 11 is in rehearsal at the high school for a production of “The Miracle Worker.”
The play, by William Gibson, tells the story of Helen Keller and the teacher who managed to break through the wall caused by Helen’s blindness and deafness to bring her the miracle of language.
Eighth grader Amy Hathaway is cast as the young Helen, and senior Susan Estes will play Annie Sullivan, the teacher.
The cast has not been able to work on the stage until this week and will have to wait until after tonight’s band concert to put up their sets.
Amy has been preparing by working with the rest of the cast blindfolded. This is her first role. She doesn’t have many lines, but she does have lots of actions to perform.
