Potomac Edison requested an expedited increase in its rates, with the schedules of rates and terms and conditions filed therein to go into effect on April 26. 1991. subject to refund pending investigation. The Commission entered an order granting Potomac Edison's request for such an interim increase subject to refund.

A public hearing on the application is scheduled before a Hearing Examiner for September 25. 1991. at 10:00 a.m. in the Commission's 13th Floor Courtroom in the Jefferson Building. Bank and Governor Streets. Richmond. Virginia to receive evidence relevant to Potomac Edison's application. Interested persons should be advised that after considering all evidence, the Commission may prescribe rates for electric service which differ from those appearing in Potomac Edison's application. A copy of Company's application, is available for public inspection during regular business hours at any Company office where customer bills may be paid and at the SCC Document control Center. Any person desiring to comment in writing on the application may do so by directing such comments on or before August 23. 1991, to the Clerk of the Commission as provided below. Any person desiring to make a statement at the public hearing, either for or against the application, need only appear in the Commission's Courtroom at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the hearing and identify himself or herself to the Bailiff as a public witness.

On or before June 28. 1991. persons desiring to participate as protestants. as defined in Rule 4:6 of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure (“SCC Rules”) and to present evidence and cross-examine witnesses, shall file an original and twenty (20) copies of a notice of protest as described in SCC Rule 5:16(a). with the Clerk of the Commission at the address set forth below and serve a copy on Potomac Edison.
