Bryston Craig Giannini, 24, was operating a 1982 Yamaha westbound, four miles west of Route 667, when he ran off the right side, lost control and overturned. Damage to the bike was estimated at $1,000.
Trooper Keen charged him with reckless driving. He was hospitalized.
• A 15-year veteran of the State Police who has served in Rappahannock since graduation from the academy will be leaving soon.
Trooper Harry A. Newlin has been promoted to sergeant and will be stationed in Mineral starting June 1, supervising troopers in Goochland and Louisa counties, said Sgt. Adams.
His position in Rappahannock will either be filled by an academy graduate or by a transfer, said Sgt. Adams.
“He’s done an excellent job the entire time he’s been in Rappahannock,” said Sgt. Adams.
• George William Pullen, 35, of Amissville, was sentenced Monday in Rappahannock Circuit Court to 12 months in jail for brandishing a firearm.
All but 45 days were suspended, and they will be served on weekends, ruled Judge W. Shore Robertson.
He was also fined $500 plus costs.
