The new road is 30 feet wide, 170 feet long and runs between Dr. Werner Krebser’s Post Office building and the Eldreds’ home.
The council voted to make the stub into an official street upon hearing a report by Town Attorney Frank Reynolds that a title search of the alley revealed that “it appears no one has ever claimed it.”
Mr. Reynolds said, “It appears to me that it is already a byway* but-it has just never been designated as such.”
Title research by Cardinal Abstract on the town’s other stub streets has not been completed, said Mr. Reynolds.
