was unavoidable. That’s why I make sure that I always get my job done because, you never known when you’ll need this equipment for real.”
Although Mr. Cahill does not plan to make the Navy a career, he says that besides the opportunity to learn a trade the service has provided him with some other benefits.
“One thing it gave me was stability,” he said. “It helped me learn how to set goals and to plan for a career. I even got married while I was in the Navy.”
After this enlistment Mr. Cahill knows what his next step will be.
“I’ve worked on a target acquisition system,” he says, “and I plan to get my FCC license. My ambition is to repair and maintain radar systems within the civilian job market.”

Alex Smith, a 4-H alumnus from Rappahannock County, will be the canoe instructor at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal for all the 4-H camps during the 1991 camping season.
