Dr. Gangel reported that a survey had been circulated to all parents asking for their evaluations of the county schools. He said that 66 had been returned to the elementary school and 17 to the high school.
“I hope the parents who have received the surveys will take the time to fill them out and return them,” Chairman Beverly Massie said. “We are eager to find out from the parents what they think.”
The board agreed to meet again next Tuesday night to interview candidates to replace Bemie Chesshir as elementary school principal. At that meeting they will also approve the new school calendar and perhaps accept the bid for the vaulted tank.
In other action the School Board:
• Transferred Linda 0wings to the high school to teach home economics. Mrs. Owings has been teaching art and classes for the gifted and talented at the elementary school
• Accepted resignations from sixth grade teacher Amy Stone and part-time speech teacher Lisa Setzer.
• Set noon June 27 for the end of the year pay out meeting.
