Five mile run
Lord Fairfax Community College will hold its 12th Annual fivemiler road race beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at the college.
The entry fee is $7, which includes handmade pottery to first 120 paid participants. Every participant must pay the entry fee as well as submit a signed entry form (parent/guardian signature required for those under 18).
Registration will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Call 703-869-1120.
Memorial Day festival planned
The Sperryville Business Council will host their annual Memorial Day festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 26-28. Many activities are planned for the three day weekend. Special sales, demonstrations, food and games for the children will be held throughout the town. For more information call 987-8235 or 987-8058, evenings.
Mayfest to be held
Strasburg’s 10th annual Mayfest began May 13 and will continue through May 19. A Mayfest art show will be held in conjunction with the fest from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Antique show and sale
The Shenandoah Valley Antique Show and Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. at the Hugh Saum building, downtown Main St. in Edinburg. There will be a $2 admission charge. For further information call 703-984-8521.
Wordperfect course
Lord Fairfax Community College will be offering wordperfect in its word processing class OFT 216-Word Processing Equipment Operations, during the summer session. Classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday with a day session scheduled for 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and an evening session held 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Word Perfect is a 10-week session course held May 30- Aug. 10.
