A very special “Welcome Home” to Amissville Baptist pastor Tom Everett who comes home May 15 to stay. He had been activated during the Desert Storm conflict.
George and Peggy Marcey, along with Ed and Catherine Marcey, traveled to Ferrum to attend graduation exercises for Eddie Marcey at Ferrum College. Eddie’s brother Tommy who attends Longwood College also attended.
Emergency Medical Services week is celebrated this month. The community is proud of the many rescue personnel who are there for us in an emergency. Their dedication is of the highest calibre. I urge you to respond to the Amissville Fire Department’s request for funds to help them continue their services to the community.
The Fire Department is continuing to accept contestants in its Honorary Fire Queen contest; ages 3 to 20 may sign up. Call Donna at 9375595.
Hope you had a great Mother’s Day. I was taken to dinner at the Bleu Rock Inn and it was magnificant. They now serve lunch from 11:30 to 2:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Sunday Brunch is served from 11:30 to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Dinner hours during the week are 6 to 10:30; closed Wednesdays.
Bleu Rock can accommodate luncheon parties of 12 or more and has just established a complete wedding and party facility, with full-time consultant on staff. For more information call Donna at 987-3190. (Bleu Rock is located on north side US 211, across from Rappahannock High.)
Many are excited about the Queen of England’s visit to the U.S. I understand Her Majesty is a very warm and personable.
It’s been a great week. The hummingbirds are visiting, the geese have hatched tfneir goslings, and the blue heron had made its appearance. Enjoy life to the fullest; be a blessing to someone else today.
Since my typewriter’s going into the shop; it’s a good time for me to take a break, the old heart needs some rest, too; experienced difficulty over the weekend; I need to spend more time on paperwork and my immediate family.
