The KappahannocK game starts at 5 p.m. at Stanley Field #2 on U.S. 340 in Stanley, south of Luray. Admission is $3.
Page won the district tourney with a 15-1 record, but their only loss was to Rappahannock at Sperryville. The regular-season and district champs advance to the regionals. If Page wins both, then the tourney runner-up would advance.
The regional tournament is May 28,30-31, also at Stanley Field.
Baseball team
finishes at 3-16
The Rappahannock High baseball team ended its 1991 campaign with three more wins than the year before.
Following Monday night’s season-ending 5-4 loss to Manassas Park, the Panthers ended with a 316 overall record, 2-16 in the Bull Run District.
On Friday the Panthers lost to the Brentsville Tigers, one of the top Bull Run District teams, 6-2, at home.
Freshman Hunter Foster started for Rappahannock, and returned to the game after relief pitcher Keith Foster had spelled Foster.
Keith Gore hit a home run that went over the right-center fence, and Foster’s sacrifice fly in the first knocked in the only other Panther run.
Against Stonewall JacksonMount Jackson Tuesday the Panthers lost 15-5 in five innings.
Clarke County won the regularseason baseball title in the district, and will play in the tournament with Page, Brentsville and either Stone
