WARRENTON — Bill Miller will perform at the seventh Bluemont Summer Concert of the 1992 Warrenton season at 7:.'id p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. Held on the lawn of the Warren Green Hotel in downtown Warrenton, this family concert has a requested admission of $.'1 per person. All are welcome.
Since his first Bluemont appearance in 1990, Mr. Miller has dazzled audiences throughout the region. His distinctive music ranges from acoustic ballads to country rock. The enthusiasm and pride with which he performs quickly establishes a unique rapport with audiences of all ages, said Peter Dunning, director of the Bluemont Concert Series.
Mr. Miller intersperses his solo jierformances of songs, instrumental pieces on guitar and the native American courting flute with stories of growing up as a native American in this country. His performances are powerful musically in party because of the openness with which he shares both the joys and challenges of his Mohican heritage, Mr. Dunning added.
Growing up on the Stockbridge-Munsee Indian Reservation in central Wisconsin, Mr. Miller taught himself to play guitar on a $15 guitar his father gave him when he was 12 and has been playing ever since. Mr. Miller has earned a considerable reputation for his work with young people on Indian reservations and in schools around the country, sharing his art, music and life experiences.
The lawn of the old Warren Green Hotel is a beautiful setting to hear a concert. People attending the concerts are encouraged to contribute $2 per person towards the cost of the evening. There is plenty of parking available, and local streets are closed to vehicular traffic
