Chosen were Janet Hitt, 14, of Castleton, who plays second base, Sharnita Fletcher, 13, of Harris Hollow, center field and pitcher, Susan Jewell, 14, of Castleton, left field, Laura NcNear, 14, of Gid Brown Hollow, right field, and Amy Payne, 14, of Sperry ville, right field and pitcher.

The all-star team first captured the District 10 Little League championship and subsequently traveled to Portsmouth the last weekend in July to compete in the 12-team double elimination state level senior championship tournament.

On the regional level, the All Stars won its first victory over Chantilly, July 9, beating them 16 to four and seven to two. From the regional, the girls then traveled to Portsmouth to play on the state level. There they played the state champions from last year, the Azaleas, and beat them 13 to five. The next game against the Lynchburg and Richlands team, losing both games. By losing two games in a row, the Culpeper All-Stars were eliminated from the tournament.
