guana Aug. 2 after Virginia State Trooper G.T. Settle stopped his 1984 Chevrolet for speeding on U.S. 211 at the intersection of Route 612. Settle reported that he observed smoking paraphernalia in plain view, and a further search of the car revealed suspected marijuana.
• On Aug. 5, Trooper S. A. Hawkins stopped Michael Campbell, 22, of Culpeper, on U.S. 522 just north of Route 650, for an equipment violation on his 1973 Chevrolet. Trooper Hawkins reported that a consent search of the car turned up suspected marijuana, and he charged Campbell with possession.
• No charges were placed in a minor accident Aug. 3 on Route 657, just east of Route 664. Trooper C. A. Moore reported that a 1986 Ford, driven by Vanna Harris, 34, of Huntly, and a 1989 Nissan, driven by Robert Lindquist, 69, of Sarasota, met as the vehicles rounded a curve on the narrow gravel road. Neither driver was injured, Moore reported, and both vehicles received minor damage.
