THE VACANT LISTING
It is not unusual for a property to be vacated sometime before settlement. In many cases, the owners relocate to a distant city. As a homeowner/seller, here Is a list of responsibilities for you (with your Realtor's help), to take care of before you leave: 1. Leave your new address and telephone number.
2. Leave a bank deposit slip for depositing your proceeds from the settlement or arrange to have it sent to your new address. 3. See that the deed to prepared for transferring title. The deed, of course, must remain In your possession.
4. Verify Insurance coverage. Sometimes policy revisions are necessary If a property Is vacant.
5. Landscaping maintenance must be arranged for..
0. Lamps and timers should be adapted so that the vacant property appears occupied. 7. Pinal meter readings should be taken at the appropriate time, but be sure utilities are left on until then.
8. A steady supply of oil. If used far heating, should be supplied.
