Mr. Day, a computer analyst and consultant, is invited into companies to decided how they can use a computer to make them more efficient and beneficial to themselves.
“I am encouraged to wander around and interview the staff and find out where the bottleneck is,” he said, punching keys on the machine to show a program recently completed.
“I recommend changes,” he said, pointing to the various things the computer enables the company employees to do with one pushed key - eliminating paperwork, and or making paper work, to save time, mistakes and money wasted. “Though I used to write all of the programs I designed, I now find that using other consultants both saves money and speeds the entire process.” Again, like Ms. Carnahan and Mr. Kvarnes of Small Fry Graphics, Mr. Day is part of a computer network whose boundaries reach far beyond Rappahannock County.
However, as a business changes, so must its systems.
