The wedding of Karen Anne Pennington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Pennington of Culpeper, to Mark Wayne Settle, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Settle of Rixevyille, took place on Saturday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. in the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert J. Donnelly.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an elegant white Italian silk satin gown which featured a sabrina neckline with off the shoulder cornet sleeves. The bodice and sleeves were adorned with reimbroidered Alencon lace accented with hand stitched pearls and beading. The full length cathedral train edged with hand embroidered lace was accented with sequined Alencon appliques and bows. Her fingertip illusion veil fell from a crown head' piece of sequins and pearls. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, gardenias, stephanotis, star of Bethlehem, fern and trailing ivy.
Maid of honor was Becky King of Las Vegas, Nev., a friend of the bride.
The bridesmaids were Denise Feagans of Bumpass, Jenny Houston of Culpeper, Alison Montgomery of Annandale, Laura Rentz of Frankfurt, Germany and Rachel Wray of Salt Lake City, Utah, all friends of the bride.
